Winter Sports Round Up

ALPINE SKIING

The St. Michael’s Alpine team wrapped up their season as Helene Kristoffersen ’25 and Aidan Robin ’27 qualified and competed at the NCAA Championships. Kristoffersen was named the first ever Collegiate women’s skier to qualify four times for the NCAA Championships. 

NORDIC SKIING 

The St. Michael’s Nordic team finished off a record-breaking season highlighted by a podium at the home carnival for the men’s 3x5k classic relay. Declan Hutchinson ’25 and Oliver Miatke ’27, qualified for the NCAA Championships at Dartmouth College. Hutchinson placed the second-highest finish ever in the NCAA championships by a St. Michael’s nordic skier and was selected as the first ever male nordic St. Michael’s athlete inducted to the All-East Ski Team. The Women’s team was able to round their season out with multiple top 30 finishes, led by sophomore Zoe Devine.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Women’s Basketball finished their season with a record of 11-16, making it to the first round of the NE10 Championship. Stand out players include Jayla Tyler ’27 with 98 O-boards, making her the regular season best offensive rebounder in the NE10, and Margaret Montplaisir ’28 making the NE10 All-Rookie Team. 

WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY

Grace Canterbury ’25 on her senior night at Cairns hockey arena on Feb. 22, 2025. The team finished their 2024/2025 season with five wins. Two being against Post University, one against St. Anselm College, and two against Sacred Heart University. “This is a push in the right direction,” said Canterbury. The senior class celebrates playing over 100 games, and fifth-year Mary Leys playing 128 games, a school record.

SWIM AND DIVE 

The St. Michael’s Swim Team finished their season off with the men finishing fourth at the NE10 Championship with a total of 422 points and women finishing seventh with a total of 291. A total of 12 records were broken across the entire team. 6 Individual records and 6 relay records were broken.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Rico Byrd ’28 playing in the St. Michael’s Basketball game vs. New Haven on Feb. 22, 2025. Byrd finished the season with an All-Rookie Team Accolade and four time receiver of the NE10 Rookie of the Week Accolade. The team finished their season with a record of 9-21
